Discover MediaTek’s latest 5G chipset: The Dimensity 7200

MediaTek has been delivering some of the most affordable mobile chips, with their latest release being the Dimensity 7200. MediaTek’s Dimensity 7200 is built on a 4nm process, and it is designed for mid-range smartphones with 5G capabilities. Here is all you need to know about MediaTek’s latest 5G chipset.

Built on a 4nm Process

One of the most notable features of the Dimensity 7200 is that it is built on a 4nm process. This is an unusual feat, as most mid-range chipsets are built on less efficient and more outdated build processes. The Dimensity 7200 uses a highly efficient manufacturing process that is usually reserved for flagship chips.

Octa-core Design

The Dimensity 7200 chipset comes with an octa-core design, consisting of two Cortex-A715 cores that run at 2.8GHz and six Cortex-A510 cores. The chipset also supports Arm’s Mali-C610 MC4 GPU, making it a good option for mobile gaming and making it easier to migrate data. The MediaTek Dimensity 7200 also includes MediaTek’s HyperEngine 5.0 enhancements for gaming, which are designed to improve the mobile gaming experience.

Other Features

The Dimensity 7200 chipset is packed with modern features, including 4K HDR video recording, cameras up to 200MP, recording videos from two cameras at once, and FHD+ displays at 144Hz. Memory can hit up to 6,400Mbps, and UFS 3.1 storage is also supported. The chip's modem supports sub6 5G networks, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.3/LE.

When To Expect It

The MediaTek Dimensity 7200 will make its debut in new Android smartphones launching in Q1 2023, which means in the next month. While it's unclear which phone brands will incorporate this new chipset, it’s possible that MWC 2023 later this month will see the first Dimensity 7200 devices. Stay tuned for more information.
