Android 13's March 2023 Feature Drop: What Can We Expect

Android 13's March 2023 Feature Drop: What Can We Expect

Google has just recently launched the first Feature Drop for Android 13, but the search engine giant is already hard at work on the next version, which is scheduled to be delivered in March 2023. While, details regarding the next line of updates are scarce, we do have an idea about what to expect.

New Material You Theme

A new Material You theme dubbed "MONOCHROMATIC" has been discovered. It is not yet accessible for usage, although it is visible in the code. Based on the name, it will most likely be one of the more understated possibilities. It will most likely be comparable to the "SPRITZ" option launched with Android 13's initial iteration, a desaturated choice that already seems monochrome.

Desktop Mode & Partial Screen Sharing

Experts say that the presently hidden desktop mode is still under development, which was initially intended primarily for developers testing multiscreen setups. When you use desktop mode on this version of Android, a floating bar appears over the top of floating or freeform windows, with choices to minimize, maximize, enter split-screen mode, and more. This indicates that the corporation is attempting to get the mode available for users.

Google is also pursuing partial screen records. You may choose a single window to record for example send anywhere file transfers progress or cast, similar to how you can select individual tabs or windows for sharing in video conference calls. On Android, you will have the option of sharing a single app or the whole screen.

Interface Upgrades

Visual updates are usually the most visible, and QPR2 Beta 1 has a few adjustments. The fast settings tiles in the notification shade have been slightly repositioned so that they are now closer to the time and date. When you enlarge them by swiping down, you'll see that the clock grows in size while the date moves below the clock. In addition, the mobile service provider is shown on top of the status symbols in the right rather than next to them.

Another noticeable update is the notification shade. Swiping down on the lock screen without first unlocking it will display a black backdrop, even in light mode, and will disable quiet notifications entirely. Silent notifications did not show on the lock screen in prior versions of Android, but they would surface when you swiped down.

There are plenty of other minor changes that we can expect with the next Feature Drop, but for now these are the major ones. Let us know in the comments below which one are you most looking forward too!
