All You Need to Know About Xiaomi's Android 13 Upgrade

Xiaomi has finally released its newest custom Android skin, MIUI 14. The updated software's user interface is based on Android 13 and includes several cosmetic modifications, several new functions, and greater cross-device cooperation. Let's take a closer look at the new features in Xiaomi's Android 13-based OS.

Design

The newest MIUI 14 has a substantial aesthetic upgrade. The icons and general user interface have been updated by the firm. The icons are huge and adjustable. There are also new widget styles and home screen folders, providing users with greater customizing possibilities.

Performance

During the introduction of MIUI 14, Xiaomi made a lot of noise about performance. The creator has put forth a lot of effort to make the program lightweight. MIUI 14 has a new MIUI photon engine that runs atop the Android kernel. Third-party developers will be able to design smoother and more power-efficient apps as a result of this.

The system memory footprints have been considerably reduced, with just eight programs remaining that cannot be deleted. Xiaomi says that the system's fluency has been increased by up to 60%. Third-party applications, in addition to system apps, boost speed and efficiency.

New Features

The MIUI 14's most notable characteristic is its compact size. The overall size of the firmware is just 13.09GB, which is much smaller than previous MIUI releases. A new app cleaning function compresses low-frequency programs and saves just one copy of duplicate files. It is also worth mentioning that Xiaomi’s in-built data sharing app also have a refreshed look with the MIUI update, users will be able to easily share data from one device to another.

In addition, the update also includes additional notification management features. Users may now dismiss resident alerts with a single swipe. Additionally, freshly installed applications will need notification authorization. Because no user data is saved in the cloud and all operations are conducted locally on the device, privacy is also increased.

MIUI Interconnection

MIUI 14 will let users connect with other ecosystem items in real time. According to the corporation, two big interconnection hubs service over a billion devices. The paired-device interface has been modified, with each device having its own area onscreen, some of which may be moved from one to another to switch inputs.

The Xiaomi Magic Center, a portal for managing your Xiaomi ecosystem items, has also been updated and now supports faster device connections speeds. The new high-speed interconnection bus, according to the business, has enhanced the speed of earphone connections by 50%, the speed of mobile TV connection by 12%, and image transmission while streaming by 77%.

The new MIUI upgrade also includes AI integration and family services features.
