Nokia 2780: Decent Flip Phone in the Foldables Era

Nokia is known for catering to both ends of the spectrum; the high-end and budget-friendly. In the era of premium smartphones, there is no option for those who are on a tight budget. Nokia has come out with a decent flip phone for the masses.

Availability & Pricing

The Nokia 2780 Flip phone will be made available in the United States in two different colors, red and blue. The phone will have a price tag of $90 and will go on sale on November 15. The firm has not yet made any announcements about the availability in India. On the other hand, it is anticipated that the price would be lower than 5,000 rupees.

Specifications

The Nokia flip phone is powered by a Unisoc T107 CPU and 48MB of RAM. It has 128MB of internal storage and an external storage slot that accepts microSD cards up to 32GB in size. The phone also comes preinstalled with S30+, which includes Snake, Tetris, and English with Oxford.

In addition, according to a report, the Nokia 2780 flip phone has a Qualcomm 215 chipset, a quad-core CPU operating at 1.3GHz, and an X5 LTE modem with max downlink rates of 150Mbps, which can support bulk music transfers. The phone is powered by a 1,450 mAH battery that is also detachable.

The Nokia 2780 also supports VoLTE and RTT, allowing users to send text messages while on the phone. Nokia advertised the phone as having 512MB internal storage and 4GB RAM, but this might be a mistake since a feature phone does not need as much capacity, it noted.

Meanwhile, in August, Nokia released the Nokia 2660 Flip phone, which has distinctive characteristics such as a large display, large keys, hearing aid compatibility, and an emergency button. Overall, not bad for such an outdated design.
