Google and NASA Bring the Solar System to Your Home Room

Google and NASA are no strangers to working together; the tech titans have collaborated on everything from high-quality maps of the Moon and Mars to the development of quantum computers. Over the last several years, Google has made over 100 3D representations of different objects accessible, including planets, moons, and spaceships. Google and NASA are now celebrating their newest collaboration by adding context to some of those 3D models and launching a new online display.

Google Partners Up with NASA

The two parties have collaborated on a project that can be seen on Google Arts & Culture and is focused on the solar system as well as space travel in general. These sections investigate all we know about the Solar System, from the Sun all the way to Pluto, as well as how we came to know it. In addition to being a fun way to pass some time thanks to the data shared and learn something new, the page's primary purpose is to encourage kids to get involved in STEM fields in general and space science in particular.

Annotations that provide more explanation will soon be added to the 3D models that Google and NASA are working on in order to make them more educationally useful. Sorry about that. You may explore planets, rockets, and other objects to gain knowledge about the components that make up this things and even where some of it ended up. You should get used to seeing more of these annotations in the coming weeks, since Google has announced that they will soon be arriving to other educational models, beginning with subjects related to biology.
