Apple’s Next iPhone Line to See a Price Hike

Most of Apple products are not budget friendly and often have a specific target audience in mind rather than the general consumer pool. It’s no surprise that there may be a significant increase in prices of the iPhone 14 lineup.

According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple may set the price of the future iPhone 14 at a higher level than that of the iPhone 13. When compared to the prices of the iPhone 13 range, Kuo predicts that the total average selling price (ASP) of the iPhone 14 lineup will be around 15 percent higher.

Price Hikes Across the Board

For the sake of comparison, the base price of the normal iPhone 13 model is $799 (after discounts from participating carriers), whilst the Pro and Pro Max variants bring the price up to $999 and $1,099, respectively. Although rumors do not indicate pricing estimations for particular smartphones, insiders believe that the average selling price (ASP) of the iPhone 14 series (including Pro variants) might be anywhere between $1,000 and $1,050. According to Kuo, the rise in ASP is due to a "greater shipping percentage" as well as likely higher prices for the iPhone Pro and iPhone Pro Max.

Due to pricing rises that have been influencing the worldwide supply chain, a Wedbush Securities analyst told The Sun in June that he anticipates the iPhone 14 would cost $100 higher than the iPhone 13, despite the fact that Apple has not yet announced the next model. It is worth mentioning that if the leaks are true than the iPhone 14 lineup has some impressive features such as upgraded Android file transfer and more. In the meanwhile, a report attributed to the Korean leaker Lanzuk says that Apple would not increase the price of the regular iPhone 14, but rather just the prices of the Pro variants.

The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max versions are speculated to get the most of the enhancements, despite the fact that the basic edition of the iPhone 14 is anticipated to ship with a rear-facing camera that has been upgraded to 48 megapixels and a front-facing camera that has autofocus. The notch in the display that is now used to house the front-facing camera may be replaced with a pill-shaped hole-punch cutout on the Pro and Pro Max. Additionally, these devices may enable always-on displays and come equipped with the newest A16 processor.
