Amazon's App is Trying a TikTok-Live Stream to Increase Usage

Amazon is the next corporation to attempt to drive interaction with a social feed similar to TikTok. The e-commerce behemoth joins a long line of firms that have had the same idea: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, Pinterest, LinkedIn, YouTube, Spotify, and Netflix, to name a few.

Amazon’s TikTok Inspired Stream

Amazon is testing a vertical picture and video stream in its app among employees, according to Watchful, an AI product intelligence company. According to the images given by Watchful, the feed, presently known as "Inspire," will display on the bottom navigation bar of the Amazon app. Users who press the diamond-shaped symbol will see postings on their feed with links to buy any things highlighted in the post.

This isn't the first time Amazon has used the same strategies as big social media platforms. It even offers Posts, an Instagram clone, as one of its advertising platforms. Of course, Amazon has invested in influencer marketing including move to iOS and live shopping, both of which Facebook will soon discontinue in order to concentrate on, its TikTok rival.

However, Amazon's TikTok clone isn't completely unexpected. Amazon purchase suggestions are particularly popular on TikTok, with the tag #amazonfinds receiving 25.6 billion views. Some influencers have accumulated millions of followers just by recommending attractive Amazon goods to their audience and receiving a fee if the viewer clicks on their affiliate link. As a result, it seems to reason that Amazon would prefer that its consumers discover these "Amazon must-haves" organically on its app rather than via TikTok or Instagram Reels.

It's unclear if this function will ultimately make its way to the Amazon app - corporations often test feature ideas internally, even if some never make it to the public. Customers may see Amazon's native marketing as less real than a social network post, but it's evident that the majority of those product suggestion TikTok videos are also part of a money-making machine.
