How to Create and Manage iPhone Contact Lists with iOS 16

Keeping track of all your contacts can be challenging, especially if you have many people in different areas of your life. Fortunately, with iOS 16, you can now create and manage multiple contact lists on your iPhone. This feature allows you to organize your contacts into groups such as family, friends, work colleagues, and external contractors, and view and manage each list separately. Here’s how you can create and manage contact lists on your iPhone.

Requirements to Create iPhone Contact Lists

Before you can create contact lists on your iPhone, make sure that your device is running on iOS 16 or later. To check your device's version, go to Settings > General > Software Update. If there is an update available, download and install it.

Creating iPhone Contact Lists

To create a new contact list, open the Contacts app and tap on "Lists." If you have previously set up the app or are syncing it with iCloud, you likely already have contacts listed. To create a new list, tap "Add List" and enter a name for the list. Tap anywhere outside the list name to save it. Repeat this step for any additional lists you want to create.

Populating Your iPhone Contact Lists

Once you have set up your lists, you can start adding contacts to each group. To add existing contacts, open the list you want to add to, tap the "+" icon at the upper right or the "Add Contacts" link, select the contacts you want to add, and tap "Done." To add a new contact to a list, open the list and tap the "+" icon. Tap "New Contact," enter the details for the contact, and tap "Done." Continue this process until you have added all your contacts to their respective groups.

Editing Your iPhone Contact Lists

To make changes to your lists, go to the Lists screen and tap on the "Edit" link. You can remove a list by tapping its minus sign icon or swiping it to the left and tapping the trash can icon. To rename a list, tap its entry and enter the new name. Tap "Done" when you have finished.

Emailing or Texting a List of Contacts

You can easily send an email or text message to a list of contacts. To email the list, swipe the name of the list to the right and tap the "Mail" icon. Compose your message and tap "Send." To text everyone on the list, swipe the name of the list to the right and tap the "Messages" icon. Compose your message and tap "Send."

Exporting Your iPhone Contact Lists

If you need to share your contacts with another device or app, you can export them. To export a list, press down on the list you want to share, select "Export" from the pop-up menu, and choose the app or service you want to use to share the list.

Duplicate Contacts Fixer and Remover

If you find that you have duplicate contacts in your iPhone contact lists, you can use the Core app to remove them. Core is a third-party app that helps you manage and organize your contacts on your iPhone. With Core App’s duplicate contacts fixer and remover feature, you can easily find and remove duplicate contacts, merge similar contacts, and backup and restore your contact lists. Using Core with the Contacts app can help you keep your contacts organized and up to date.

Conclusion

Creating and managing contact lists on your iPhone is easy and convenient. With iOS 16, you can keep your contacts organized by creating different lists for different groups of people. You can add, edit, and remove contacts from each list and even email or text an entire list of contacts.
