Motorola Unveils Top-Rollable Phone Idea

Samsung has pretty much perfected foldable smartphones, while other smartphone manufacturers tried to create their own foldables, none of them came close to the South Korean tech giant. Motorola understands that it needs to come up with something new and innovative hence it has unveiled a rollable phone.

Motorola’s Rollable Phone

The brand demonstrated a rollable phone at the Lenovo Tech World 2022 conference, which varies significantly from past attempts. More particular, unlike prototypes from other manufacturers, the screen of the Motorola rollable phone extends from the top rather than the side. This allegedly enables the phone screen to expand from five to 6.5 inches, with the UI changing appropriately.

For now, the exact screen ratios are unknown. Nevertheless, this concept varies from the rollable phone prototypes developed by Oppo and LG. When retracted, these previous gadgets had a big smartphone screen that transforms into a tablet-style display when extended. Meanwhile, Motorola is using the rollable idea to provide a pocket-friendly phone that can be transformed into a large-screen device. In other words, this is for folks who prefer a smaller phone over a tablet in their pocket. No other specifics have been revealed yet but if the smartphone is produced, we expect it to have top-notch features including upgraded clone it capabilities.

It is worth mentioning that this is still only an idea, therefore there is no assurance that this product will be launched. However, we hope that manufacturers resolve issues typical with foldable devices before the launch.
